Dr Ambedkar Scholarship – Haryana, Chandigarh and Tripura Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship for DNTs, named after the Father of the Indian Constitution, is a centrally-sponsored scholarship scheme of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. However, this scheme is implemented by the State Governments/ Union Administrations/ Universities/ Colleges as State scholarships such as Dr Ambedkar Scholarship of Chandigarh/Haryana/Tripura.  Under this scholarship scheme, the ratio of the funding for scholarship amount between the Centre and the State is 75:25. It caters to Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) that are not included in the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. The main objective of Dr Ambedkar Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the children belonging to DNTs so that they become socially, economically and educationally empowered.
